Smol Things

Sometimes, you just need to solder smol things. Here is some of my best work with a microscope and a soldering iron.

Mounting a flash chip for breadboard use

And the same part, after labeling and epoxy potting. The label looks rough, but writing "GND" on Abe Lincoln's forehead in ink is difficult, even with a microscope.

In service of Digitabulum

Placing a USB port after a failure to properly router the edges of a PCB.

For Digitabulum, I hand-made a single digit as a proof-of-concept. Here is the bundle of magnet wire soldered to one of the home-rolled phalanx PCBs (with no solder mask).

When I rolled the first full version of Digitabulum, I made a mistake on a GPIO expander footprint. So I had to route critical signals manually with #32 magnet wire. This footprint is 0.5mm pitch.
